Make a meaningful impact as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing by supporting young learners in a welcoming educational setting. This part-time contract role—located close to New Britain, CT—requires 10 hours per week and focuses on students at the kindergarten and preschool levels. With a small caseload of just seven students, you will have the opportunity to provide individualized support in a nurturing environment. The position begins as soon as possible, with the first day set for September 8th.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Valid certification or licensure for teaching students who are deaf or hard of hearing
  • Previous experience working with preschool and kindergarten-aged children preferred
  • Strong understanding of educational strategies and accommodations for students with hearing loss
  • Ability to develop and adjust Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills with staff, parents, and support professionals

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct instructional services to preschool and kindergarten students who are deaf or hard of hearing
  • Adapt curricular materials and teaching methods to meet students’ individual needs
  • Maintain accurate documentation of student progress and participation
  • Coordinate with general education teachers and related service providers to implement effective instructional strategies
  • Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and team planning sessions
  • Support student inclusion and engagement within the classroom and broader school community
