Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid teaching certification for Deaf/Hard of Hearing or eligibility to obtain one
- Proven experience working with early childhood-aged children who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with families, school staff, and specialists
- Familiarity with individualized education plans (IEPs) and evidence-based instructional strategies
- Knowledge of sign language and auditory/oral approaches is desired
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction tailored to each early childhood student’s needs within the Deaf/Hard of Hearing program
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and other educational professionals to support inclusion and social-emotional development
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals in compliance with state and federal requirements
- Support families in understanding their child’s learning profile and available community resources
- Maintain all necessary records and documentation in a timely manner
