Qualifications:
- Certification as a Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing (TDHH)
- Specialized experience teaching or supporting early childhood-aged students (ages 3-5 preferred)
- Strong understanding of language development, auditory training, and adaptive communication strategies for students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Proficiency with assistive technologies and communication modalities, such as American Sign Language (ASL), cued speech, or oral approaches
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills when partnering with families, general education staff, and related service providers
- Commitment to fostering inclusion, cultural sensitivity, and positive learning outcomes in young children
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and consultative services to a small caseload of 6 early childhood students with varying degrees of hearing loss
- Adapt and modify curriculum materials to ensure accessibility and meaningful participation in classroom activities
- Conduct and document progress monitoring, contributing to development and implementation of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Support classroom teachers and families with instructional strategies and recommendations for accommodations
- Facilitate language development, auditory skills, and social-emotional learning through individualized and group sessions
- Maintain effective and ongoing communication with multidisciplinary team members
