Key Qualifications:
- Current and active Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) certification/license in California
- Experience working within California schools or a strong familiarity with the state’s education systems is highly preferred
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage caseloads across multiple locations
- Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities
- Comfort working onsite; this is an in-person, itinerant position (no virtual/VOCO services)
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instructional services to DHH students, adapting curriculum and teaching strategies to meet individual communication needs
- Assess student progress, collaborating with general and special education staff to monitor growth and adjust plans as needed
- Facilitate positive classroom and school environments that promote access and inclusion
- Serve as an advocate for students and consult with families and related service providers
- Travel between multiple school sites, maintaining regular and effective communication across educational teams
- Stay current on best practices, technologies, and legal requirements for DHH education
