Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in Hayward, CA

Responsibilities:
- Deliver in-person services to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing across multiple school locations, following an itinerant service model.
- Develop, adapt, and implement individualized educational plans (IEPs) for assigned caseload.
- Engage regularly with educators, school teams, and families to monitor student progress and collaborate on support strategies.
- Maintain detailed documentation of services, progress, and outcomes in accordance with district and state parameters.
- Use specialized instructional tools, technology, and resources tailored for Deaf/Hard of Hearing students.
- Participate in IEP meetings, staff development, and school-wide initiatives as appropriate.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
- Valid Deaf/Hard of Hearing teaching certification or license in California (required).
- Demonstrated experience with California public schools or districts highly desirable.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively and professionally with students, colleagues, and families.
- Strong organization and time-management skills, especially when working across multiple locations.
- Flexibility and adaptability to manage a varied caseload and travel between sites.
- Commitment to fostering student independence and inclusion in the school community.
