Step into a rewarding contract opportunity for a skilled Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing, providing essential educational support across multiple schools in the area. In this onsite position, you'll play a pivotal role in delivering in-person instruction and advocacy for students who are deaf or hard of hearing, ensuring every learner has access to meaningful, individualized education. This is a full-time, itinerant assignment running from August 10, 2026, through June 4, 2027, with a weekly commitment of 37.5 hours.
Key Qualifications:
- Current and active DHH (Deaf/Hard of Hearing) certification/license in California
- Prior experience supporting students in California school settings strongly preferred
- Demonstrated organizational skills and the ability to manage schedules across multiple school sites
- Excellent communication abilities, fostering collaboration among students, staff, and families
- Proficiency in adapting teaching methods to different learning needs and environments
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct, in-person instructional support and services to students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Travel as an itinerant teacher between school sites to meet student and program needs
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Consult and collaborate with general education teachers, school staff, and families
- Advocate for student access, accommodations, and inclusion in educational activities
