Desired Experience and Qualifications:
- Valid certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing or equivalent state credentials
- Demonstrated experience supporting Deaf or Hard of Hearing students, preferably in a school setting
- Strong understanding of Deaf culture, American Sign Language, and assistive technology
- Ability to adapt lessons and materials for diverse student needs
- Exceptional communication skills for collaboration with teachers, staff, parents, and students
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver individualized lessons and accommodations based on student IEPs
- Support student participation in general education settings through consultation and direct instruction
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure access and equity for all students
- Monitor and track student progress, making data-driven adjustments to instruction
- Provide professional development and resources for school staff on Deaf/Hard of Hearing topics
- Serve as a resource and advocate for students and families
