Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing - Cleveland, TN

Desired Skills and Experience:
- Valid state certification to teach Deaf/Hard of Hearing students
- Experience working in school settings with students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Knowledge of American Sign Language (ASL) and/or other communication modalities for Deaf education
- Ability to modify curriculum and assessments to meet individual needs
- Understanding of IEP development and implementation
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Assess student abilities and develop individualized educational plans
- Work in partnership with classroom teachers, specialists, and families
- Provide guidance and resources on best practices for accessibility and inclusion
- Monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
- Support advocacy and self-advocacy skills for students
