Desired Qualifications:
- Valid credential to teach Deaf/Hard of Hearing students
- Experience working with school-aged children in educational settings
- Knowledge of sign language and/or other communication modalities for Deaf/Hard of Hearing students
- Ability to collaborate with general education teachers, families, and related service providers
- Strong communication, organizational, and advocacy skills
- Flexibility adapting lesson plans to a variety of learning needs and abilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in individual or group settings
- Develop, implement, and adapt lesson plans and materials according to Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Facilitate access to the curriculum through language supports and assistive technology
- Participate in IEP meetings, progress monitoring, and documentation
- Collaborate with school staff and families to support student development and inclusion
- Serve as a resource to educational teams regarding strategies and accommodations for Deaf/Hard of Hearing learners
