Desired Experience and Qualifications:
- Valid teaching credential with a specialization in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education
- Proven experience in instructing students with hearing impairments in school settings
- Strong knowledge of auditory/oral, total communication, and American Sign Language (ASL)
- Ability to conduct and interpret audiological and educational assessments
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with teachers, families, and support staff
- Familiarity with creating and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Adaptability in working with students ranging from preschool to high school
Core Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver individualized and group instruction to Deaf/Hard of Hearing students
- Modify curriculum and classroom materials to meet diverse learning needs
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, specialists, and support personnel to promote inclusion
- Provide consultative support and training to educational staff and families
- Monitor student progress and revise instructional strategies accordingly
- Advocate for accessibility and equal participation in all school activities
