Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university
- Valid Alabama Teacher’s Certificate
- Meets Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) federal and state requirements (or willingness to do so within required timeframe)
- All necessary licensure for teaching Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) students in Alabama
- Previous experience working with Deaf/Hard of Hearing students strongly preferred
- Sound communication, collaboration, and advocacy skills
What You'll Do:
- Provide direct and consultative instructional support to Deaf/Hard of Hearing students across K-12 settings
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education programs (IEPs), tailoring instruction to student needs
- Support general educators and staff by offering guidance on accessible classroom strategies
- Collaborate regularly with parents, staff, and service providers to design enriching educational opportunities
- Champion student inclusion and promote self-advocacy and independence
- Remain engaged with current best practices in Deaf Education
