Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university

- Meets Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) federal and state requirements, or a willingness to fulfill these requirements within the designated timeframe
- Holds or is eligible for necessary licensure for Deaf/Hard of Hearing instruction in Alabama
- Specialized experience or training working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing highly valued
- Commitment to accessibility, differentiated instruction, and advocacy for children with hearing loss
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and group instruction for students who are deaf or hard of hearing, adapting content as needed
- Collaborate with general education staff and support teams to develop and implement effective strategies
- Monitor students’ academic and social-emotional progress and maintain clear, ongoing communication with families
- Contribute to the creation and implementation of IEPs (Individualized Education Plans)
- Foster a supportive, inclusive classroom culture
